Welcome to the '00's, Mark

I've been proud of my boat anchor of a cell phone, and vowed to hold on to it for as long as possible. Well, I made a dreadful mistake yesterday. I went into a cell phone store. As you probably know, you can't walk into a cell phone store and not come out of there with a new phone. So I got one. Not only that, but I have a feeling that I'm about to become one of those obnoxious people with the Twisted Sister songs for rings. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right? Hey, at least I didn't get a cell phone camera.

College Basketball

I know it's probably like this every year, but this season seems like one of the craziest I've seen in a long time. I don't know if it's that nobody's risen to the top, or if there are just a lot of good teams this year. And here we are 16 games into the season, and I still don't know if my Jackets are for real or not. We'll know soon enough. For now, I'm going to enjoy the 2-game winning streak while it's going. In the meantime, here are some examples of what I'm talking about:

  1. Georgia. First they beat Tech, and then they get rocked by Tennessee. So I'm thinking, "Man! Tech must not be as good as I thought." But then, today, they go and beat none other than the Kentucky Wildcats.
  2. North Carolina took care of GT, then proceeded to lose to Maryland, who just lost to Georgia Tech.
  3. North Carolina beat top ranked UConn today.
But the biggest question of all for me is if Georgia Tech can figure out how to win on the road. They couldn't do it last year, and they haven't convinced me yet this year. All I can say is hold on for your life, because this is going to be a fun season.
